A estable connection between the titanium surface and the surrounding tissue is the most important prerequisites for the long-term success of implants. Therefore, a strong adhesion of the cells on biomaterial surface is required. The objective of this study was to evaluate fibroblast adhesion stimulated by basic Fibrobast Growth Factor (bFGF) on titanium discs. For this study 30 titanium discs with smooth surface were produced. These discs were placed on culture plates with NIH3T3 fibroblasts, stimulated by bFGF, on test group and without the growth factor on control group. The samples were obtained after 3 hours, 24 hours and 48 hours. Using SEM, 10 images were obtained from each disc, totalizing 300 micrografies. The test showed that there are more fibroblasts attached to titanium discs, with a significative difference, at all experimental analysed periods of this experiment, when bFGF was administrated.
