| Abstract: | Considerando-se que o sentido de enunciados (entidades concretas) é a representação de sua enunciação − expresso essencialmente pelo entrelaçamento das significações das palavras e das frases (entidades linguísticas abstratas) −, a necessidade de distinguir sentido próprio de sentido figurado é completamente descartada da Semântica Argumentativa desenvolvida por Oswald Ducrot, Marion Carel e seguidores. A partir dessa perspectiva antirreferencialista de linguagem, esta tese objetiva descrever e explicar a significação de palavras e o sentido de enunciados e de períodos argumentativos que − independentemente do gênero discursivo do qual fazem parte − revelam algum tipo de elaboração artística. A metodologia utilizada ao longo das análises ampara-se em princípios e conceitos da Teoria da Argumentação na Língua (ANL) e da Teoria dos Blocos Semânticos (TBS). A escolha dessa fundamentação teórica decorre do fato de a Semântica Argumentativa possibilitar a análise da linguagem, tanto em sua manifestação ordinária quanto artística, de um ponto de vista estritamente intralinguístico e discursivo. Por ser essa uma perspectiva autorreferencial de estudo do sentido, são as noções de arbitrariedade do signo, de relação e de valor argumentativo que vetam − principalmente segundo a ANL da primeira fase − as aproximações entre elementos linguísticos e extralinguísticos na descrição e na explicação semântica. O corpus escolhido para as análises é, nesta tese, constituído por discursos artísticos escritos em prosa e em verso, a saber: um miniconto, de Marina Colassanti; um poema, de Manuel Bandeira; um artigo de opinião, de Juremir Machado da Silva e um poema, de Alberto Caeiro, heterônimo de Fernando Pessoa.Os resultados das análises permitem, por um lado, explicitar e discutir as conclusões sobre o que se convencionou chamar de artisticidade semântico-argumentativa do corpus e, por outro, postular a existência de um continuum semântico-argumentativo na linguagem capaz de reduzir as fronteiras linguístico-discursivas a partir das quais tradicionalmente se delimitam as maneiras ordinária e artística de manifestação linguística. Como um ponto de chegada da pesquisa, apresenta-se também o lugar da ideologia na descrição e na explicação semântico-argumentativa. Portanto, este estudo − comparativo em certa medida − apresenta conclusões importantes, sobretudo para as pesquisas desenvolvidas nos quadros da Semântica Argumentativa e das subáreas de estudos linguísticos com as quais a ANL e a TBS fazem interface, como a Linguística da Enunciação e a Linguística do Texto. Um novo olhar teóricometodológico sobre a semântica expressa em discursos artísticos escritos é lançado, aqui, como um ponto de partida para pesquisas brasileiras interessadas por esse tipo de corpus.
Considering that the meaning of utterances (concrete entities) is the representation of their enunciation − expressed essentially by the interweaving of the signification of words and sentences (abstract linguistic entities) − the need for distinguishing literal meaning from figurative meaning is completely discarded from Argumentative Semantics, developed by Oswald Ducrot, Marion Carel and followers. From this anti-referential perspective of language, this thesis aims to describe and explain the signification of words and the meaning of utterances and argumentative periods that − regardless of the discursive genre which they are part of − reveal some kind of artistic elaboration. The methodology used throughout the analysis is based on principles and concepts of the Theory of Argumentation within Language (AWL) and Semantic Block Theory (SBT). The choice of this theoretical foundation derives from the fact that the Argumentative Semantics enables the analysis of language, both in its ordinary and artistic manifestation, from a strictly intralinguistic and discursive point of view. Because this is a self-referential perspective of the study of meaning, it is the notions of arbitrariness of the sign, of relation and of argumentative value that hinder − mainly according to the first phase of AWL − the approximations between linguistic and extralinguistic elements in the description and semantic explanation. The corpus chosen for the analysis is, in this thesis, constituted by artistic discourses written in prose and verse, namely: a small tale, by Marina Colassanti; a poem by Manuel Bandeira; an opinion article by Juremir Machado da Silva and a poem by Alberto Caeiro, Fernando Pessoa’s heteronymous.The results of the analyses allow, on the one hand, to clarify and discuss the conclusions about what is conventionally called the semantic-argumentative artisticity of the corpus and, on the other hand, to postulate the existence of a semantic-argumentative continuum in language capable of reducing linguistic-discursive boundaries from which common and artistic forms of linguistic manifestation are traditionally delimited. As a point of arrival of the research, the place of ideology in the semantic-argumentative description and explanation is also presented. Therefore, this study − comparative to some extent − has important conclusions, especially for research carried out within the framework of Argumentative Semantics and the subareas of linguistic studies with which AWL and SBT interface, such as Linguistics of Enunciation and Textual Linguistics. A new theoreticalmethodological look at semantics expressed in written artistic discourses is launched here as a starting point for Brazilian research interested in this type of corpus. |
