Comunicação, epistemologia e tecnologia em Edgar Morin

Abstract

The objective of this work is discussing some essential aspects of the epistemology of communication, being privileged the topics argued by researchers of the Work Group Epistemology of Communication of Compós since 2001 when it was created. What are the limits of the field of communication? What is the object of communication? What is the importance of the medias for the effective communication? Can it be considered that the technological revolution guides communication? These are some of the knotty interrogations that face those who dedicate themselves to investigate theoretically the referring questions to the sciences of communication. From the identification of these epistemological dilemmas pointed by researchers of the communication area, is tried to make such questions to dialogue with the ideas presented by the paradigm of complexity, proposed by Edgar Morin, in the six volumes of The Method written and published between 1977 and 2004. These are works that reflect the concern with the production of the scientific knowledge, being conceived for the author himself as a synthesis of his epistemological thought. The paradigm of complexity of Morin, which opposes the modern epistemology, has been an useful instrument in the revision of theoretical and methodological presuppositions in many areas of knowledge since the last two decades of the 20th century. It is assumed here that the same may happen in relation to the reflection on the communication phenomena. After analyzing what Morinean reply to the epistemological questions of communication could be, it is tried to think about the relevance of the technological thought in the communication way of think marked by a complex epistemology of communication.

O objetivo deste trabalho é discutir alguns aspectos essencias da epistemologia da comunicação, privilegiando os tópicos discutidos por pesquisadores do GT de Epistemologia da Comunicação da Compós desde 2001 quando foi criado. Qual é a delimitação do campo da comunicação? Qual é objeto da comunicação? Pode-se considerar que as revoluções tecnológicas orientam a comunicação? Estas são algumas das interrogações nodais que enfrentam aqueles que se dedicam a investigar teoricamente as questões referentes às ciências da comunicação, a Comunicação e a comunicação.A partir da identificação destes dilemas epistemológicos apontados por pesquisadores da área da Comunicação, procura-se fazer dialogar tais questões com às idéias apresentadas pelo paradigma da complexidade, proposto por Edgar Morin, nos seis volumes de O Método escritos e publicados entre 1977 e 2004. São obras que refletem a preocupação com a produção do conhecimento cienífico, sendo concebida pelo próprio autor como uma síntese de seu pensamento epistemológico. O paradigma da complexidade de Morin, que se contrapõe a epistemologia moderna, tem sido um instrumento útil na revisão de pressupostos teóricos e metodológicos em diversas áreas do saber a partir da segunda metade das últimas décadas o século XX. Acredita-se nesta pesquisa que o mesmo pode acontecer em relação à reflexão sobre os fenômenos e as teorias da comunicação. Após analisar o que poderia ser a resposta Morineana para os quetionamentos epistemológicos da comunicação, busca-se refletir sobre a relevância do pensamento tecnológico no pensamento comunicacional pautado por uma epistemologia complexa da comunicação.
