| Resumo: | This study -"Teachers as transformers of the school" – came up as a desire of to know if teachers are a ware of their role and also about the possibility of can make a difference within the school. In addition, if they know that this difference could change not only the concept that they have in the society, but mainly the results that can achieve with their students. Considering the new paradigm of education and the role of the teacher in the current context, this study want to comprehend as the teachers, of elementary school and high school, perceive themselves as agents of processors school, their role in the society and what powers are necessary to be a good teacher today. The research supported by the constructivist paradigm, it is characterized as a descriptive and interpretative approach. For data collection using the semi-structured interviews and data were studied by using content analysis (ENGERS, 1987). The results that emerged from the study were grouped into categories: modern and post modern society in the social transformation of the school and teacher. These were analyzed by a dialogical reflection with the author as: O'Sullivan, Perrenoud, Vasconcellos, Bazarra, Engers and others. It was observed that teachers are aware that living in a society in constant transformation as well as that the school hasn’t working according to the cultural space and time. Yet the teachers understand that is necessary a new position of the professor, in which the work tied up personal and professional skills along with the commitment and continuing education in springboard for processing. But, it is important to say that they do not feel responsible for this process that may break with the traditional paradigm in the educational context.
A investigação, “Os professores como transformadores da escola”, nasceu da vontade de saber se os professores estão cientes que podem fazer a diferença dentro da escola, modificando, não só o conceito que esta tem perante a sociedade, mas, principalmente, os resultados que podem alcançar junto aos seus alunos. Considerando o paradigma transformador da educação e o papel do professor no contexto atual, este estudo buscou conhecer como os professores de Ensino Fundamental e Ensino Médio percebem-se como agentes transformadores da escola; qual seu papel na sociedade e que competências são necessárias para ser professor nos dias atuais. A investigação apoiada no paradigma construtivista, caracteriza-se como uma abordagem descritiva e interpretativa. Para a coleta de dados utilizou-se as entrevistas semi-estruturadas e os dados foram estudados por meio de análise de conteúdo (ENGERS,1987). Os resultados que emergiram da pesquisa foram agrupados em categorias: sociedade moderna e pós moderna no contexto social; transformação da escola e o professor. Essas foram analisadas por meio de uma reflexão dialógica com os autores como O’Sullivan, Perrenoud, Vasconcellos, Bazarra, Engers e outros. Observou-se que os professores estão cientes de que vivem em uma sociedade em constantes transformações, para a qual a escola não tem sido satisfatória. Entendem a necessidade de um uma nova postura de professor, em que as competências pessoais e profissionais, junto com o comprometimento e a formação continuada constituem-se em mola propulsora de transformação. Porém, não se consideram responsáveis por esse processo que poderá romper com o paradigma tradicional, ainda tão presente no contexto educacional. |
