| Abstract: | This thesis intends to show that the deepening of Popper's approach with the evolutionary method (Trial and Error) from the 1960's determined a change in his epistemology. Thus, we will try to reach the following objectives: I) to demonstrate Popper's first approach with the evolutionary method in books published until 1960, in a timid and metaphoric way. In this moment, the author uses such concepts only to clear his falsification method, which, in criticizing the problem of demarcation and induction, still had the scientific legitimacy as its source the falsification of a theory and the growing of the knowledge an empirical basis and an attachment to positivist postulates. We still emphasize the that Popper establishes a criterion of an ambiguous and conventionalist demarcation, because he selected both methods and theories, besides not answering why a theory such as Einstein's theory is better than Freud's psychoanalysis theory, unless through a conventionalist criterion. II) To highlight that the deepening of Popper's approach with the evolutionary method (Trial and Error) after the 1960's determined a change in his falsifying philosophy, through the following topics: i) a defense that there is an identity between the selection of more suitable theories and the selection of more adapted species, that is, we started from problems, attempts of solution and error elimination both in the natural and in the epistemic level; ii) the basis of scientific legitimacy, the falsification of a theory and the growing of the knowledge that was grounded in a merely empiric basis level; until the 60's gets new components by means of the defense of an objective knowledge, without a knowing subject, mediate by the world 3 (theories) and by the argumentative function and the language criticism. The criterion of a theory legitimacy occurs after the Method of Trial and Error which is characterized by the critical use of experience; iii) both, `worlds 1, 2 and 3’ and the argumentative function and the language criticism, also reflect an evolutionary adaptation of the universe to its maximal point, which is the man. Thus, Popper's criterion of demarcation gets less restrictive by admitting that the `metaphysical programs of investigation' are fundamental for the discovery of new scientific theories and for the search of a truth approach. III) To emphasize that, regarding the Evolution Theory, Popper presents a generic approach which goes from Darwinism to Neo-Darwinism, through an ambiguous and critical posture regarding both, intending to search for subsidies pertaining to his theoretical project. To conclude, we assure that Popper can be pointed as an author leading theoretically to an evolutionary epistemology.
Esta tese pretende demonstrar que o aprofundamento da aproximação de Popper com o método evolucionário (Tentativa e Erro), a partir dos anos de 1960 determinou uma mudança em sua epistemologia. Para tanto, procuraremos atingir os seguintes objetivos: I) Demonstrar uma primeira aproximação de Popper com o método evolucionário, nas obras até 1960, de forma ainda tímida e metafórica. Nesse momento, o autor serve-se de tais conceitos apenas para explicitar seu método falsificacionista, que, ao criticar o problema da demarcação e da indução, ainda tinha como fonte de legitimidade científica de falsificação de uma teoria e do crescimento do conhecimento uma base empírica e um apego aos postulados positivistas. Ressaltamos, ainda, o fato de Popper estabelecer um critério de demarcação ambíguo e convencionalista, porque tanto selecionava métodos, quanto teorias, além de não responder por que uma teoria, como a de Einstein, é melhor que a teoria da psicanálise de Freud, a não ser através de um critério convencionalista. II) Destacar que o aprofundamento da aproximação de Popper com o método evolucionário (Tentativa e Erro), a partir dos anos de 1960, determinou uma mudança em sua filosofia falsificacionista, através dos seguintes pontos: i) Defesa de que existe uma semelhança entre a seleção das teorias mais aptas com a seleção das espécies mais bem adaptadas, ou seja, partimos de problemas, tentativas de solução e eliminação do erro, tanto no âmbito natural quanto no epistêmico; ii) A base de legitimidade científica, de falsificação de uma teoria e do crescimento do conhecimento, que estava fundamentada numa base meramente empírica até aos anos 60, ganha novos componentes, mediante a defesa de um conhecimento objetivo, sem um sujeito conhecedor, mediado pelo mundo 3 (teorias) e pela função argumentativa e crítica da linguagem.O critério de legitimação de uma teoria ocorre a partir do Método de Tentativa e Erro que se caracteriza pelo uso crítico da experiência; iii) Ambos, 'mundos 1, 2 e 3' e a função argumentativa e crítica da linguagem, também são reflexo de uma adaptação evolutiva do universo até seu ponto máximo que é o homem. Com isso, o critério popperiano de demarcação fica menos restritivo por admitir que os 'programas metafísicos de investigação' são fundamentais para a descoberta de novas teorias científicas e na busca da aproximação da verdade. III) Ressaltar que, no âmbito geral da Teoria da Evolução, Popper está situado numa aproximação genérica que vai desde o darwinismo até ao neodarwinismo, expondo uma postura ambígua e crítica em relação a ambos, com a pretensão de buscar subsídios pertinentes ao seu projeto teórico. Popper pode ser apontado como um autor muito simpático e direcionando-se para uma epistemologia evolucionária, conquanto não tenha tido tempo para realizar essa tarefa efetivamente. |
