| Resumen: | This dissertation is the outcome of researches brought about while preparing the obtainment of the Master’s Degree according to the PUCRS’ Post-graduate Program in Social Service. The specific topic of the study has been the analysis of the procedures of a Social Assistant handling with groups of aged people. Obviously, the attempt had in view to identify whether the strategies currently in use really contribute to justify and fortify the legal and human rights of the aged. The importance of perceiving adequately the phenomenon of aging has become all the more evident as a consequence of the expectation of a more durable life, all over the world, and more especially in this country. The topic evidently brought forth the group broaches as technical/operative scopes of the Social Assistants’ acquaintanceship with the elderlies. The underlying concepts of the research have been based on the dialectical/critical methodology, the categories of totality, historicity, mediation and contradiction. The explanatory categories of reality include: The process of acting of a social assistant; the group broaching with conviviality groups of aged people; the process of long-livedness and the warrant of legal and human rights. The collection of data was made interviewing six acting assistants in six groups of elderlies, totaling 47 elders, living together in Convened Entities of the Fundação de Assistência Social e Cidadania de Porto Alegre. Option was given to the qualitative focus, through the analysis of the qualitative data, and through the analysis of the contents, and the quantitative data through the statistic method of handling. This research cleared up that the process of participation of the elderlies within the groups of conviviality imparts a form of social (re)insertion. It brings to light that the greater number of elders within this estate of life are undergoing problems originated from several losses: Casualties of beloved members of their families, or friends, unemployment… the group enables them to discover new projects of life. Thus, the significance of the group approach becomes evident as a strategy of intervening of the Social Assistant, having in view the effective participation of the older persons through the full enjoyment of citizenship, and making available the fulfillment of the collective processes that warrant their autonomy and the effectiveness of their social rights.
Neste trabalho apresenta-se a pesquisa desenvolvida durante a realização do Mestrado em Serviço Social no Programa de Pós-Graduação da PUCRS, que teve como objetivo analisar o processo de trabalho do Assistente Social junto a grupos de idosos, com vistas a identificar se as estratégias utilizadas contribuem, de forma efetiva, para a garantia de direitos e o fortalecimento dos mesmos. Destaca-se a importância da compreensão do fenômeno do envelhecimento em função do aumento acentuado da expectativa de vida da população como um todo, especialmente no Brasil, bem como a abordagem grupal como dimensão técnico-operativa do trabalho do Assistente Social com grupos de convivência de idosos. A pesquisa utilizou o método dialético-crítico, tendo-se como base as categorias totalidade, historicidade, mediação e contradição. As categorias explicativas da realidade consistem em: processo de trabalho do Assistente Social, abordagem grupal em grupos de convivência de idosos, envelhecimento e a garantia de direitos. A coleta de dados foi realizada em 6 grupos de convivência de idosos ligados a Entidades Conveniadas com a Fundação de Assistência Social e Cidadania de Porto Alegre, na qual foram entrevistados 6 Assistentes Sociais e 47 idosos. Optou-se pelo enfoque qualitativo da pesquisa, tendo sido realizada a análise dos dados qualitativos através da análise de conteúdo e dos dados quantitativos por meio de tratamento estatístico. Através dessa pesquisa constata-se que o processo de participação dos idosos nos grupos de convivência significa uma forma de (re)inserção social, sendo que, em sua grande maioria, as pessoas nesta fase da vida estão enfrentando problemas decorrentes de diversas perdas: de familiares, de amigos, do trabalho, entre outros, na qual o grupo possibilita-lhes a descoberta de novos projetos de vida. Evidencia-se a importância da abordagem grupal como estratégia de intervenção do Assistente Social, tendo em vista a participação efetiva da população idosa através do exercício pleno da cidadania, viabilizando a realização de processos coletivos que garantam sua autonomia e a efetivação de seus direitos sociais. |
