Maus-tratos contra os idosos no município de Porto Alegre: uma abordagem interdisciplinar

Abstract

The generic violence, here focused in the maltreatments, that was mainly represented in terms of physic and psychological aggressions was the subject of this research. The problem proposed for this research was related with the question of maltreatments practiced against elderly and how the protective institutions of rights have dealt with this subject. Then, using bibliographic research we intendet analyze deeply the problem proposed. First of all, the research made an historic, sociological and anthropological approach of the aspects of the violence related with elderly in general, filtering after with focus in the city of Porto Alegre, to understand how this phenomenon occurred in the bosom of the family, initially, and expanded by the society. The central point of this research then followed to an analyze of the problem seeking to understood how it happenned in the society, what his influence today in the social act of living together and what can be done in what is concerned in the search for the social control of violence besides the protection of the elderly rights and for the maintenance of a life with dignity. The ending of this study happenned with an analysis of the collected data’s in the empiric research that was realized in the Elderly Police Station of Porto Alegre. This afield research aspired to understand what the principals kinds of crimes verified in this city as to identify who were the main victims and aggressors, over and abover to determine what kind of crime was more commonly observed it this sample.

A violência genérica, aqui focada nos maus-tratos, que foi representada principalmente em termos de agressões físicas e psicológicas foi o tema desta pesquisa. O problema proposto para a pesquisa foi relativo à questão dos maus-tratos praticados contra os idosos e como as instituições protetivas de direitos lidaram com o assunto. Utilizando-se de pesquisa bibliográfica e empírica foi então que se pretendeu aprofundar a análise do problema proposto. Em um primeiro momento a pesquisa fez uma abordagem histórica, sociológica e antropológica dos aspectos da violência em relação aos idosos em geral, filtrou-se posteriormente com foco no município de Porto Alegre, para que se pudesse compreender como este fenômeno se manifestou no seio familiar, inicialmente, e se expandiu pela sociedade.O ponto central desta pesquisa seguiu então para uma análise do problema sendo que se buscou compreender como o mesmo se manifestou na sociedade, qual a sua influência hoje no convívio social e o que poderia ser feito no que tange a uma busca pelo controle social da violência além da proteção aos direitos dos idosos e pela manutenção de uma vida com dignidade. O fechamento deste estudo ocorreu com uma análise dos dados coletados em pesquisa empírica a qual foi realizada na Delegacia de Polícia de Proteção ao Idoso de Porto Alegre. Esta pesquisa de campo almejou compreender quais os principais tipos de crimes verificados neste município bem como identificar quem seriam as principiais vítimas e agressores, além de determinar qual o tipo de crime mais comumente observado na amostra.
