Investigando o uso de softwares educacionais como apoio ao ensino de matemática

Abstract

Esta dissertação de Mestrado apresenta as reflexões e os resultados de uma pesquisa realizada para investigar a conexão entre a formação do professor de Matemática e suas escolhas de uso de softwares educacionais na prática profissional. Os professores participantes, em conjunto com o autor escolheram para os experimentos os softwares Google Earth, Graphmatica e Google Sketchup, considerados os mais adequados entre os avaliados para apoiar as atividades docentes. A motivação para realizar esta pesquisa surgiu de dados empíricos e leituras de publicações da área que indicam que os professores de Matemática que usam Softwares Educacionais não obtém formação, durante a graduação ou quando há alguma formação, ela é insuficiente ou inadequada. Esta formação é adquirida por iniciativa e investimentos próprios, oriundos de motivações pessoais que têm origem nas características próprias dos usuários destes programas. Os autores utilizados para embasar este projeto foram Vygotsky, Pierre Lévy, e Maturana, e, secundariamente Valente, Kuhn e Mattelart. Os instrumentos de coleta de dados utilizados na investigação foram questionários abertos, gravações e diário de campo. Estes dados foram analisados posteriormente através da Análise Textual Discursiva. As considerações finais indicam que o processo de formação na graduação, no que tange ao uso de tecnologias digitais deve ser repensado, para se adaptar ao público que chega a Universidade, cada vez mais imerso no virtual, que exerce uma influência relevante no seu comportamento e na sua linguagem.

This thesis describes the discussions and results of a survey conducted to investigate the connection between the training of mathematics teachers and their choices of educational software use in professional practice. The teachers who participated, together with the author choose for the experiments the software Google Earth, Google Sketchup and Graphmatica, as the most suitable among those evaluated to support the teaching activities. The motivation for this research came from empirical data and publications in the field reading which indicates that the mathematics teachers who use educational software do not get trained during graduation or when there is some training, it is insufficient or inadequate. This training is acquired on the initiative and its own investments, from personal motives that arise from the characteristics of users of these programs. The authors used for supporting this project were Vygotsky, Pierre Lévy, and Maturana, and secondarily Valente, Kuhn and Mattelart. The data collection instruments used in research were open-ended questionnaires, and field journal recordings. These data was later analyzed by Discourse Textual Analysis. The final considerations indicate that the process of training during graduation, which has to do with the use of digital technologies should be redesigned to fit the audience that comes to the university, increasingly immersed in the virtual world , which exerts an important influence on their behavior and in their language.
