Leigos engajados na política: um olhar interdisciplinar sobre a Juventude Estudantil Católica enquanto movimento social (1958-1966)

Abstract

Nesta dissertação buscamos lançar um olhar interdisciplinar para entender como a Juventude Estudantil Católica no período entre 1958 a 1966 passa de movimento institucionalizado da Igreja Católica Apostólica Romana a movimento social engajado na política estudantil e que luta por mudanças sócio-estruturais no Brasil. O objetivo maior é mostrar que novas oportunidades políticas surgem para a Equipe Nacional da Juventude Estudantil Católica na década de 1950 que tornam possível transformar o movimento institucionalizado em um movimento social através de estruturas de mobilização e novos marcos referenciais entre 1958-1966.

In this work, we aim to give an interdisciplinary view in order to understand how the Catholic Student Youth, during the period from 1958 to 1966, changes from a Roman Catholic Church institutionalized movement to a social movement, engaged to student politics and that fights for social-structural changes in Brazil. The greatest aim is to show that new political opportunities appear to the National Team of Catholic Student Youth in the 1950s which make the transformation from an institutionalized movement to a social movement possible, through structures of mobilization and new framing process dated from 1958-1966.
