| Abstract: | O presente estudo propõe analisar a ocorrência dos sacramentos do batismo, da confissão e do matrimônio no discurso jesuítico, de maneira a tentar compreender a forma como eram acionados, relatados e interpretados pelos missionários. Tendo em vista a grande incidência de registros envolvendo estes sacramentos na correspondência inaciana, optou-se pelo estudo da análise do discurso jesuítico presentes nas cartas entre o ano 1609 e a década de 1640, pertencentes à Coleção De Angelis. Em decorrência da função e importância dentro do contexto missionário, o discurso é caracterizado por um modelo edificante que enfatiza a realização/aplicação do ato sacramental, enaltecendo a aparente incorporação dos sacramentos à vida indígena, bem como grandes quantidades de índios que são batizados, confessados e/ou casados. Percebe-se, então, um descompasso no registro sacramental, na medida em que casos edificantes envolvendo os sacramentos têm uma grande ocorrência quantitativa, não existindo a mesma proporção qualitativa no que compete à sua eficácia na vivência dos indígenas.Logo, ao mesmo tempo em que os jesuítas relatam inúmeros batismos, confissões e casamentos realizados no meio reducional, são raros os registros que enfatizam a permanência/conversão dos índios em uma vida cristã. De acordo com isso, tem-se como objetivo neste estudo demonstrar as variáveis que provocaram este desencontro de informações no registro do discurso jesuítico.
The present study intents to analyze the occurrence of the baptism, confession and marriage sacraments into the Jesuitical discourse, trying to understand the ways as it were used, reported and interpreted by missionaries. Due the high number of registers regarding to these sacraments in the inaciana letters, were opted to the study and analysis of the Jesuitical discourse found into the letters written between 1609 and 1640 decade, within De Angelis Collection. Due the function and importance inside of the missionary context, the discourse is characterized by an example model that emphasizes the execution/application of the sacramental act, putting emphasis in the apparent incorporation of the sacraments to the Indians life, as well as great number of Indians who were baptized, confessed and/or married. It is perceived an exaggeration in the sacramental register, the measure where example cases involving the sacraments have a higher number of occurrences, besides the lower number of occurrences regarding to its effectiveness in the Indians life. Therefore, at the same time where the Jesuits inform innumerable baptisms, confessions and marriages carried through in the reductional environment, are rare the registers about permanence/conversion of the natives in a Christian life. In accordance with this, this study tries to demonstrate the variables that had provoked this discrepancy of this information into the Jesuitical registers. |
