| Abstract: | Esta tese, visando à análise da tradição da negatividade na moderna lírica brasileira, propõe uma leitura de três obras significativas desse contexto: Eu e outras poesias de Augusto dos Anjos, A rosa do povo de Carlos Drummond de Andrade e O engenheiro de João Cabral de Melo Neto, através de uma perspectiva crítica que considera, apesar dos caracteres de composição distintos, a negação como elemento fundamental de suas estruturas. As pesquisas dos livros dos respectivos autores demandou uma visão dos paradigmas da cultura da Modernidade, mais especificamente da lírica moderna, seus precursores e suas principais características. A tradição e, especialmente, a questão da negatividade foi teoricamente examinada na sua natureza semântico-pragmática e na sua dimensão artística, a partir das reflexões de Hugo Friedrich, Alfredo Bosi e Theodor Wiesengrund-Adorno. A leitura propriamente das três obras principiou com o estudo dos poemas sob o ponto de vista lingüístico-formal e temático, e culminou com o exame do processo de negação e ruptura empreendido pelas mesmas. Interações intensas de cálculo e fantasia, de crítica social explícita e imanente, de tradicionalismo e Modernidade, tornam tais obras exemplares dentro da poesia brasileira.
This thesis, concerning the analysis of the negativism tradition in the modern Brazilian poetry, proposes a reading of the three important books in this context: Eu e Outras Poesias by Augusto dos Anjos, A Rosa e o Povo by Carlos Drumond de Andrade e O Engenheiro by João Cabral de Melo Neto, through a critic view which considers, despite the characters of distinct composition, the negation as the essential element of its structures. The research using the books of the mentioned authors demanded a view of the culture and modernity paradigms, more specifically of the modern poetry, its precursors and its main characteristics. The tradition and specially, the negativism issue was theoretically examined in its semantic pragmatic nature and its artistic dimension, based in the reflections of Hugo Friedrich, Alfredo Bosi and Theodor Wiesengrund-Adorno. The reading of the three books started with the study of the poems under a thematic and formal linguistic point of view, and culminated with the exam of the breaking up and negation process undertaken by them. Intense interactions of calculus and fantasies, of explicit and immanent social criticism, of traditionalism and modernity, make such books ideal models in the brazilian poetry. |
