| Resumen: | Este estudo analisa o espaço da memória e do feminino, na sociedade patriarcal portuguesa, em A Sibila, de Agustina Bessa-Luís, com base nos estudos narratológicos de Iuri Lotman, Mikhail M. Bakhtin e Georg Lukács. Em primeiro lugar, é feito um percurso teórico, dividido em duas etapas. A primeira busca definir os conceitos básicos a serem considerados para a análise da obra, como “romance”, “personagem”, “memória” e “espaço”. A segunda aprofunda o problema do espaço do romance, abordando a configuração espacial da personagem, a poética do espaço, a estrutura espacial da narrativa, bem como o espaço do feminino na sociedade e na vida literária portuguesas. Por fim, analisa-se o romance, estabelecendo-se relações entre a representação do espaço e a construção das personagens e do caráter de memória da narrativa, procurando demonstrar como a autora discutiu a condição e a identidade da mulher na sociedade patriarcal.
The present study analyses the space of memory and of women in the portuguese patriarchal society, on A Sibila, by Agustina Bessa-Luís, based on the studies of Iuri Lotman, Mikhail M. Bakhtin and Georg Lukács. The theoric part is divided in two moments. Initially, some basic concepts are defined like “novel”, “character”, “memory” and “space”. After, the last topic is studied, focusing the spacial configuration of character, the poetic of the space, the spacial structure of the narrative, and the space of women in the society and in the portuguese literary life. Finally, the novel written by Agustina Bessa-Luís is analysed, establishing relations between the spacial representation of the characters and of the memory on the narrative, evidencing how the writer shows the feminine condition and identity in the patriarchal society. |
