| Resumen: | A literatura dramática do Rio Grande do Sul, da primeira metade do século XX, a partir de uma abordagem crítica moderna e com ênfase nas duas dimensões fundamentais para a arte: a estética e a social. O estudo - de certa forma original no tema e pouco convencional no modelo narrativo - visa suprir uma lacuna no campo específico da historiografia literária gaúcha, na qual o enfoque, via de regra, recai sobre a prosa e a poesia. Do inventário da produção dramática sul-rio-grandense, do período de 1900 a 1950, e da análise dos estilos e temáticas explorados pelos autores sulinos, em quase uma centena de peças teatrais (várias delas jamais publicadas ou referidas em estudos anteriores), resulta, mais que um amplo painel, uma sólida fonte de pesquisa, há tantos anos reclamada pelos profissionais e amantes das artes cênicas do Rio Grande do Sul. Ainda que a literatura dramática gaúcha possa parecer, à primeira vista, pouco expressiva, a conclusão final do estudo é de que a produção nesse gênero, no período relevante, foi, quantitativamente, considerável: entre dramas, comédias e outras formas ou classificações teatrais, o número chega a cerca de 660 peças, das quais em torno de 160 nos foram legadas, na forma impressa. Em termos de qualidade cênica e literária, pelo menos duas dezenas desses textos merecem figurar na história da literatura dramática nacional.
The dramatic literature of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, in the first half of the XX century, from a modern review approach and with emphasis in the two fundamentals dimensions for the art : the esthetics and the social. The study – original in a certain way in the theme and in the narrative model – aims to supply a gap in a specific field of the gaúcha historygraphy literature, in which the the approach, according to custom, relapses into the prose and the poetry. From the stock of the rio-grandense dramatic production, in the period from 1900 to 1950, and the analysis of the styles and thematics explored by southerns authors, in almost a hundred of theatricals plays (several of them never published or refered in previous studies), result, more than a wide panel, a solid source of research, for so many years claimed by professionals and lovers of the scenics arts of the State of Rio Grande do Sul. Even though at the first sight the dramatic gaucha literature might not look much significant, the final conclusion of the study is that the production of this gender, in the importante period, was quantitatively considerable: among ladies, comedies and other forms or theatricals ranking, the number reaches around 660 plays, among which about 160 were delegated us printed. In terms of scenic and literary quality, at least two dozens of these texts deserve be reported in the history of the national dramatic literature. |
