| Abstract: | In this dissertation, we seek to analyze, with the support of the theory of social representations, the ways in which certain meanings on poverty are produced and processed in social life, and the impact that such knowledge can play in the representations that the individuals, in this case women socially recognized as poor, have about themselves and their surroundings. To this end, we organized five chapters as papers. The first one discusses the role of dialogicity and its contributions as a category central to the development of a critical social psychology ; the second deals with the capitalist system in its neoliberal clothing and tries to highlight some of the values that sustains it ; the third outlines a reflection on certain recurrent speeches that, through various strategies, crystallize prejudices and justify repressive actions on those who are recognized as poor. The last two articles, both of empirical nature, were developed from contact with these women. In the fourth chapter, we tried to understand the social representations of poverty through 14 open interviews and an epistemological circle in a group with 12 participants. The Information was organized through a thematic analysis and interpreted through a critical psychosocial look. In general, we can say that the social representation of poverty is formed around two centers: one characterized by the poverty and other socioeconomic bias by morality and culture. Thus, in the first group, we have the description of the sorrow of poverty, the daily difficulties and stigmas built around this situation; in the second, we have the positives aspects of those who live this, characterizing them as strong -willed, good people, rich in the joy of living. In the last chapter, we start from the specifics points of one of the women participating in the study in order to think about the impacts of the neoliberal capitalist system in its production of subjectivity. The analysis shows, among other things, an intense pain resulting from the existential experience of occupying places of poverty in contemporary society.
Nesta tese, procuramos analisar, com o apoio da Teoria das Representações Sociais, os modos pelos quais certos sentidos sobre a pobreza são produzidos e transformados na vida social, bem como o impacto que tais conhecimentos podem exercer nas representações que os sujeitos, neste caso, mulheres, reconhecidas socialmente como pobres, têm sobre si mesmos e sobre seu entorno. Para isto, apresentamos cinco capítulos organizados em forma de artigo. O primeiro discute o papel da dialogicidade e as suas contribuições enquanto categoria central para o desenvolvimento de uma psicologia social crítica; o segundo aborda o sistema capitalista na sua roupagem neoliberal e procura pontuar alguns dos valores que o sustenta; o terceiro esboça uma reflexão sobre certos discursos recorrentes que, por meio de várias estratégias, cristalizam preconceitos e justificam ações repressoras sobre aqueles que são reconhecidos como pobres. Já os dois últimos artigos, ambos de cunho empírico, foram desenvolvidos a partir do contato com as mulheres acima citadas. No quarto capítulo, buscamos compreender as representações sociais da pobreza com a realização de 14 entrevistas abertas e um círculo epistemológico em um grupo com 12 participantes. As informações foram organizadas através de uma análise temática e interpretadas sob um olhar psicossocial crítico. Em linhas gerais, podemos dizer que a representação social da pobreza se forma em torno de dois núcleos: um caracteriza a situação de pobreza pelo viés socioeconômico e o outro pelo da moral e da cultura. No primeiro núcleo, portanto, temos a descrição de situações de penúria da pobreza, das dificuldades cotidianas e dos estigmas construídos ao redor desta situação; já no segundo, temos os aspectos positivos daqueles que a vivem, caracterizando-os como pessoas de garra, de caráter, ricos na alegria de viver. No último capítulo, partimos das especificidades de uma das mulheres participantes do estudo realizado para refletir sobre os impactos do sistema capitalista neoliberal na sua produção subjetiva. A análise mostra, entre outros aspectos, uma intensa dor existencial decorrente da experiência de se ocupar lugares de pobreza na sociedade contemporânea. |
