| Resumo: | Introduction: The investigation of the health, economical and social-cultural profile from the present elderly people, in a district range, is very important to the support of public politics that are looking for the longevity with quality of life. Objectives: The study tried to analyze the multidimensionality of the elderly life in the town of Picada Café, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It’s a district with a mostly predominant German culture in its origin, identifying the health, economical and social-cultural conditions and their association with quality of life, in order to implant actions, programs and politics destined to them, upgrading their serving and allowing their social integration. Methodology: The delineation was from the transverse type, describing and inferential. The sample included the total number of elderly people, from the both genders, who live in the town of Picada Café, with sixty years old, or more, completed until the date of June 30th, 2005 and being constituted by 601 subjects. The dates were collected from the application of a structured interview and properly stored in the individual handbooks from the Bank of Dates of the Social Action, Environment and Health Administration Department from the District Picada Café. The dates surveyed from the handbooks of the subjects included in the survey, were written out to schedules from the appliance SPSS, version 11,5 authorized to PUCRS. The statistical procedures were applied according to Zar. 1 The requirements of ethic nature were accomplished, demanded by the Ethic and Scientific Commissions of PUCRS. Results: The survey tell us that the elderly people in Picada Café presents like main features, the similarity in the number of men and women, aged about 60-69 years old, married, high level of female widowhood, originally from the country side and low level of scholarship. They live in own houses, constructed by concrete, with more than four rooms, served by electric energy and public lighting, with trash collecting service and a bathroom with toilet and shower included. The sanitary installations are made by piping system to the septic ditch and the water providing is from private shafts. Most part of them presents low average income, and it comes from retirement and allowance, and they did no specialized work in the farmer sector mostly. From big families and catholic religion, they consider health and family as the highest points in their lives. They know about the social problems, associative spirit and have their free-time watching TV, listening to the radio and talking with friends. The good conditions of basic hygienic and infra-structure, the low occupational density of the homes, the family living, the positive subject perception of their health and the autonomy in the AVD are indicatives of the elderly people’s life from the district.
Introdução: A investigação do perfil sócio-cultural, econômico e de saúde do idoso atual, em âmbito municipal, é de importância indiscutível no subsídio de políticas públicas que busquem a longevidade com qualidade de vida. Objetivos: O estudo buscou analisar a multidimensionalidade da vida do idoso da cidade de Picada Café, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil, município de cultura predominantemente germânica em sua origem, identificando as condições sócio-culturais, econômicas e de saúde e sua associação com a qualidade de vida, com vistas à implantação de ações, programas e políticas voltadas a ele, qualificando seu atendimento e propiciando sua integração social. Metodologia: O delineamento foi do tipo transversal, descritivo, comparativo e inferencial. A amostra compreendeu a totalidade dos idosos de ambos os sexos, residentes na cidade de Picada Café, com sessenta anos ou mais, completos até a data de 30/06/2005, sendo constituído por 601 sujeitos. Os dados foram coletados a partir da aplicação de entrevista estruturada e devidamente armazenados nos prontuários individuais do Banco de Dados da Secretaria Municipal da Saúde, Meio Ambiente e Ação Social do Município de Picada Café. Os dados levantados dos prontuários dos sujeitos incluídos na pesquisa foram transcritos para planilhas do aplicativo SPSS, versão 11. 5, autorizada para a PUCRS. Os procedimentos estatísticos foram aplicados conforme Zar. ¹ Foram cumpridos os requisitos de natureza ética exigidos pelas Comissões Científicas e Éticas da PUCRS. Resultados: A pesquisa revela que o idoso de Picada Café apresenta como características predominantes a semelhança do contingente de homens e mulheres, idade entre 60-69 anos, casado, alto índice de viuvez feminina, de procedência rural e baixa escolaridade. Mora em casa própria, construída em alvenaria, com mais de quatro cômodos, servida de energia elétrica e iluminação pública, com coleta de lixo a domicílio e constituída de banheiro com vaso sanitário e chuveiro. As instalações sanitárias são canalizadas para fossa séptica e o abastecimento de água é proveniente de poços privados. A maior parte apresenta baixa renda, proveniente de aposentadoria e pensão, tendo desempenhado trabalho não especializado, principalmente no setor agrícola. De família numerosa e religião católica, considera a saúde e a família como maiores valores para sua vida. Tem consciência dos problemas sociais, espírito associativo e ocupa seu tempo livre assistindo televisão, ouvindo rádio e conversando com amigos. As boas condições de saneamento básico e infra-estrutura, a baixa densidade ocupacional das residências, o convívio familiar, a percepção subjetiva positiva de sua saúde e a autonomia nas AVD são indicativos da qualidade de vida do idoso do município. |
