A trajetória da S.R.B. Estado Maior da Restinga e seu papel na constituição da identidade e visibilidade do bairro Restinga (Porto Alegre - 1977 a 2002)

Abstract

O presente estudo tem como tema de investigação a trajetória da entidade carnavalesca Sociedade Recreativa e Beneficiente Estado Maior da Restinga entre 1977 e 2002, seu papel na construção da identidade e visibilidade do bairro Restinga. Para tanto, analiso os processos de segregação espacial na cidade de Porto Alegre e as políticas públicas de habitação. Além disto, traço um panorama geral a partir de uma revisão bibliográfica que trata transformações do carnaval em Porto Alegre. O processo de fundação da escola de samba, bem como sua estruturação e consolidação, a partir das entrevistas junto aos membros da comunidade e componentes da escola, e de matérias publicadas em jornais da época.
