| Abstract: | O presente trabalho mobiliza os princípios teóricos de Alfred Schütz e Peter Berger e Thomas Luckmann para a compreensão dos papéis de gênero nas relações familiares presentes no desenho animado “Irmão do Jorel”. Revisa o atual cenário brasileiro de produções audiovisuais, visto que o objeto de estudo é financiado com recursos do meio. O cartum retrata o cotidiano de um modelo de família urbana, classe média e brasileira, composta por sete membros de três diferentes gerações habitando uma mesma casa. Assim, objetivo da pesquisa toma por compreender as expressões compartilhadas e/ou subjetivas oriundas dessa dinâmica familiar, e enfoca nas representações de gênero presentes nestas interações. O conceito de geração é mobilizado para a reflexão sobre o impacto da diferença etária na interpretação e reprodução dos papéis de gênero. No processo de análise, adota-se duas etapas com diferentes metodologias: uma primeira de seleção e preparo do corpus documental, desenvolvida pela própria pesquisadora, e a segunda de investigação, fundamentada em adaptações de técnicas de close reading. A análise conduzida indicou que embora haja representações normativas de gênero na família de “Irmão do Jorel”, há também contestação a esses papéis.
The aim of this research is to mobilize the theoretical principles of Alfred Schütz and Peter Berger and Thomas Luckmann for the understanding of gender roles in family relations presented in the animated cartoon “Jorel’s Brother”. It reviews the current Brazilian scenario of audiovisual productions, since the object of study is financed with resources from national funds. The cartoon portrays the daily life of an urban, middle class, and Brazilian family of seven, with members from three different generations living in the same house. Thus, the objective of this research is to understand the shared and/or subjective expressions arising from the family dynamics, while it focuses on the gender representations present in these interactions. The concept of generation is used to reflect on the impact that age difference has on the interpretation and reproduction of gender roles. In the analysis process, two steps are adopted with different methodologies: the first one considers the selection and preparation of the object, developed by the researcher herself, and the second step involves the investigation of selected object, based on adaptations of techniques from the method of close reading. The analysis conducted indicated that there are certain normative representations in “Jorel’s Brother”’s family, but the overall conclusion is that gender roles are often challenged and subverted. |
