A jornada da heroína: estrutura narrativa para roteiros de ficção

Abstract

O presente trabalho visa descrever a estrutura narrativa contida na jornada da heroína, elaborada pela autora Maureen Murdock em sua obra The Heroine’s journey, bem como apresentar um trabalho criativo com base em tal teoria. Depois de constatar que a onipresente jornada do herói, desenvolvida por Joseph Campbell e aprofundada por Cristopher Vogler, não contemplava de forma adequada personagens mulheres, autoras, dentre elas Murdock, delinearam uma nova estrutura narrativa visando protagonistas mulheres em suas histórias de ficção. Tal pesquisa teve como resultado a descrição de dez estágios da jornada da heroína, utilizados no desenvolvimento do roteiro de longa-metragem de ficção Antes da chuva. São eles: Separação do feminino; Identificação com o masculino; Estrada de provações; O sucesso ilusório; O “não” das mulheres fortes; A iniciação e inclinação à Deusa; Reconexão com o feminino; Cura da divisão mãe/filha; Encontro do masculino interior; Além da dualidade.

The present essay aims to describe a narrative structure developed by author Maureen Murdock in her book The Heroine's journey, as well as present a creative project based on such theory. Noticing that the hero's journey, created by Joseph Campbell and then Christopher Vogler, did not adequately represent female characters, female authors, such as Murdock herself, began to outline a new narrative structure targeting female leads in fictional stories. Such research resulted in the description of ten stages of the heroine's journey, which were used to developed the screenplay Before the rain. The stages are as follows: Separation from the feminine; identification with the masculine and gathering allies; road of trials; finding the boon of success; awakening to feelings of spiritual aridity; initiation and descent to the Goddess; urgent yearning to reconnect with the feminine; healing the mother/daughter split; healing the wounded masculine; integration of masculine and feminine.
