| Abstract: | Este trabalho está dividido em duas partes, uma ficcional e outra ensaística. A primeira apresenta o romance inédito A Noite do Cordeiro, que aborda as relações de poder durante o período colonial brasileiro a partir da crença e da descrença, do fanatismo e da perseguição, tendo como pano de fundo a presença da Inquisição portuguesa na Bahia do século XVII e a obsessão pelo estereótipo da bruxa disseminada durante aquele período. A segunda, intitulada “Poética do medo do escuro”, tem o objetivo de refletir a criação do romance, orientando-se pelos elementos que o constituem como uma história de suspense, tendo em vista a construção do efeito de medo e tensão na forma como aparece na literatura gótica, thriller e de terror. Aliando ficção e reflexão, o trabalho pretende demonstrar como a utilização dos elementos de medo servem a uma narrativa de ambientação histórica para fazê-la refletir sobre angústias contemporâneas.
This work is divided into two parts, one fictional and one essayistic. The first part presents the unpublished novel A Noite do Cordeiro, which investigates the power relations in the Brazilian colonial period, based on belief and disbelief, fanaticism and persecution, having as the background of the Portuguese Inquisition in Bahia in 17th century and the obsession with the stereotype of the witch disseminated during that period. The second part, entitled “Poética do medo do escuro”, aims to reflect the creation of the novel, guided by the elements that constitute it as a thriller, with a view to building the effect of fear and tension in the form as it appears in gothic and horror literature. Combining fiction and reflection, the work intends to demonstrate how the use of the elements of fear serve as a historical setting narrative to make it reflect on contemporary anguish. |
