Os gerentes de contas do Unibanco em Porto Alegre

Abstract

The field research was carried through with controlling of accounts of the Unibanco in Porto Alegre aiming at to portray its craft and its profile. The work of the banking manager acquired greater importance in the banking activities in Brazil from middle of years 1990, with the occured productive reorganization in the Brazilian financial sector, mainly after the Real Plan of 1994. The stabilization of the national, allied currency to the increase of the competition, intensified for the entrance of foreign banks in the national market, made with that the banks searched new forms of profit. The loss of the deriving prescription of the inflationary money market took the banks to adopt new forms of management, to extend offers of services, to minimize costs by means of resignations of employees, increasing computerization, outsourcing, subcontracts and flexibility of the work relations. lnserted in environment of strong competition, the manager became main the responsible one for the businesses retail in the Unibanco. The dissertation looks for to portray and to analyze lhe activities, the functions, the conditions of work, the qualifications and the profile of this professional. lts functions and responsibilities with priority demand of the manager of accounts social abilities more of the one than the domain and the knowledge technician for the accomplishment of its work. Therefore this professional must have superior scholastic, to be skillful socially, to be communicative and persuasive, qualities of a good salesman, to reach the high goals that are imposed to it.

A pesquisa de campo foi realizada com gerentes de contas do Unibanco em Porto Alegre visando retratar seu ofício e seu perfil. O trabalho do gerente bancário adquiriu maior importância nas atividades bancárias no Brasil a partir de meados dos anos 1990, com a reestruturação produtiva ocorrida no setor financeiro brasileiro, principalmente após o Plano Real de 1994. A estabilização da moeda nacional, aliada ao aumento da concorrência, intensificada pela entrada de bancos estrangeiros no mercado nacional, fez com que os bancos buscassem novas formas de lucro. A perda da receita oriunda da ciranda inflacionária levou os bancos a adotarem novas formas de gestão, a ampliarem a oferta de serviços, a minimizarem custos por meio de demissões de funcionários, informatização crescente, terceirizações, subcontratações e flexibilização das relações de trabalho. Inserido em ambiente de forte concorrência, o gerente tornou-se o principal responsável pelos negócios de varejo no Unibanco. A dissertação procura retratar e analisar as atividades, as funções, as condições de trabalho, as qualificações e o perfil deste profissional. Suas funções e responsabilidades exigem do gerente de contas prioritariamente habilidades sociais mais do que o domínio e o conhecimento técnico para a realização de seu trabalho. Por isso este profissional deve ter escolaridade superior, ser hábil socialmente, ser comunicativo e persuasivo, qualidades de um bom vendedor, para atingir as elevadas metas que lhe são impostas.
