Conflito Hamas-Israel sob a ótica do Jornal Nacional: em que medida a escolha de fontes contribui para uma cobertura imparcial

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo geral verificar quais são os tipos de fontes utilizadas pelo Jornal Nacional na construção da cobertura do conflito entre Israel e Palestina, iniciado no dia 7 de outubro de 2023, e a partir disso entender como a escolha delas contribui para a objetividade jornalística do telejornal. A partir disso, foram analisadas três reportagens que abriram os respectivos programas que compõem o início, meio e fim da primeira semana de cobertura. Desta maneira, foi possível compreender a natureza das fontes, o nível de diversidade entre elas, bem como qual a narrativa que elas dão para o conflito. Observou-se então que, embora o Jornal Nacional procure atender aos princípios de objetividade e imparcialidade jornalística, o programa prioriza a ampliação da cobertura a partir das perspectivas e posicionamentos dos representantes israelenses.

The present work aims to verify the types of sources used by Jornal Nacional in its coverage of the conflict between Israel and Palestine, which began on October 7, 2023, and to understand how these choices contribute to the journalistic objectivity of the news program. To achieve this, three reports that opened the respective programs at the beginning, middle, and end of the first week of coverage were analyzed. This approach provided insights into the nature of the sources, the level of diversity among them, and the narrative they present regarding the conflict. It was observed that, while Jornal Nacional aims to adhere to principles of objectivity and journalistic impartiality, the program prioritizes expanding coverage based on perspectives and positions of Israeli representatives.
