Nau Catarineta: uma leitura dialógica

Abstract

Esta dissertação apresenta um estudo descritivo e interpretativo acerca do livro Nau Catarineta, de Roger Mello, no qual são analisados os diálogos que o texto verbal e o texto visual do livro estabelecem não apenas entre si, mas também em seus elos com as manifestações artísticas populares brasileiras e com a oralidade, o primitivismo e as artes primitivas em geral. O estudo tem como objetivo contribuir para a instrumentalização de professores e mediadores de leitura interessados em trabalhar com o livro Nau Catarineta e com outros livros ilustrados para crianças contemporâneos que, como este, oferecem ao jovem leitor, tanto no texto verbal como no visual, o acesso a tradição de um modo renovador.

This dissertation presents a descriptive and interpretative study about the book Nau Catarineta, by Roger Mello, in which the dialogues that the verbal and the visual texts establish are analyzed not only between themselves, but also in its links with the Brazilian popular artistic manifestations and with the orality, the primitivism and the primitive arts in general. The study has as objective to contribute to the instrumentation of teachers and reading mediators interested in working with the book Nau Catarineta and with other books as this one that offer to the young reader, both on the verbal and the visual text, the access to the tradition on a renovating way.
