Construções familiares e experiências de violência: pesquisa biográfica em uma favela carioca

Abstract

The present research aims, through the biographical narrative approach in the perspective developed by the German sociologist Gabriele Rosenthal and the phenomenological sociology established by Michael Staudigl, to: a) understand the main epistemological frameworks linked to the biographical approaches in social sciences; b) integrate theoretical assumptions of phenomenology developed by Alfred Schütz, specified by Michael Staudigl, and anchored in the writings of Edmund Husserl and Maurice Merleau – Ponty; c) comprehend how this debate operates in the field of the phenomenon of violence; d) elucidate how the debate on violence operates in the social sciences, in particular the violence in Rio de Janeiro bound to the "space" of the favelas; e) understand how the theme family has been developed in the Brazilian social sciences so far; and f) answer the questions guiding this research. The central question guiding this investigation refers to how occurs the process of subjective and biographical construction of the phenomenon of violence in the biography investigated, and the specific issues related to the thematic connections shown by the interviewee, which are as follows : I) How the interviewee, from her biographical narrative, presents and interprets the theme of violence?; II) What meanings does the interviewee attributes to the family in the general context of her biography, and specifically to the issue of violence; III) How are these themes interpenetrated?; IV) How were and how are they experienced and presented in the interview?; V) What other thematic links are presented and what roles the play in the biographical construction of the interviewee? From the approach and the guiding questions above, I realize the reconstruction of a single biographical case - the case of Maria, who lives in a Rio de Janeiro’s favela - seeking for the emerging senses of the discourse itself and the forms that these individual interpretations dialogue with academic literature.

A presente pesquisa busca, através da abordagem de narrativa biográfica na perspectiva desenvolvida pela socióloga alemã Gabriele Rosenthal, e de uma sociologia fenomenologicamente fundamentada de Michael Staudigl: a) compreender os enlaces epistemológicos adjacentes ao trabalho com biografias em ciências sociais; b) integrar teoricamente os pressupostos teóricos da fenomenologia desenvolvida por Alfred Schütz, especificadas por Michael Staudigl, e ancoradas nos trabalhos de Edmund Husserl e Maurice Merleau-Ponty; c) apreender de que formas este debate se opera no campo do fenômeno da violência; d) retomar a constituição do debate acerca da violência nas ciências sociais, em especial o debate sobre a violência no Rio de Janeiro vinculado ao “espaço” das favelas; e e) compreender como se apresenta o debate sobre família nas ciências sociais brasileira; e f) responder as questões norteadoras desta investigação.A questão central que norteia esta investigação se refere a como se dá a construção subjetiva e biográfica do fenômeno da violência na biografia trabalhada; e as questões específicas dizem respeito às ligações temáticas apresentadas pela própria entrevistada a quem este trabalho se dedica, que são como segue: I) Como a entrevistada, a partir de sua narrativa biográfica, considera, apresenta e interpreta o tema da violência? II) Que sentidos ela atribui para a família no contexto geral de sua biografia e, especificamente para a temática da violência?; ou seja, III) Como estes temas se interpenetram – se é que se interpenetram?; IV) Como foram e são vivenciados, e como são apresentados no momento da entrevista?; e V) Que outras ligações temáticas são apresentadas, de que forma são apresentadas e que papéis desempenham na construção biográfica da entrevistada? A partir da abordagem e das questões norteadoras referidas, realizo a reconstrução de um único caso biográfico – o caso de Maria, moradora de uma comunidade carioca –, buscando trabalhar sentidos emergentes do próprio discurso e, posteriormente, de que formas estas interpretações individuais dialogam com a literatura acadêmica produzida sobre os temas nas ciências sociais.
