Perfil da Doença de Alzheimer e o estresse do cuidador familiar na cidade de Passo Fundo

Abstract

Esta pesquisa foi realizada com o objetivo de conhecer as características clínicas da Doença de Alzheimer, através dos sintomas, fases e tratamento. Também avaliou-se o estresse do cuidador familiar do idoso portador da DA. Optou-se por realizar um estudo do tipo qualitativo utilizando-se de instrumentos validados e padronizados no Brasil como: Inventário de Sintomas de Stress para Adultos e Burden Interview. Juntamente, e somando-se à estes instrumentos utilizou-se uma entrevista semi-dirigida onde demarcou-se três categorias: 1- o conhecimento do cuidador familiar sobre a DA: 2- como é ser cuidador de uma pessoa com a DA: 3- se o cuidador tem algum tipo de suporte emocional, qual? Os resultados mostraram que quanto mais inicial a fase da DA, mais alto é o nível de estresse dos cuidadores. Sobre o conhecimento que o cuidador tem sobre a DA, podemos dizer que confirma-se a tese de que cuidar do idoso com DA afeta negativamente a qualidade de vida do cuidador, provocando estresse em níveis variados conforme a fase da doença em que o idoso se encontra. Os resultados mostraram que quanto mais inicial a fase da DA, mais alto é o nível de estresse dos cuidadores. Sobre o conhecimento que o cuidador tem sobre a DA, podemos dizer que é mínimo e superficial, pois este é adquirido através da experiência das pessoas que já passaram pela mesma situação com seu familiar; o cuidado é visto pelo cuidador familiar como um compromisso de amor e gratidão, e o apoio emocional que os cuidadores precisam, é encontrado nas reuniões da ABRAZ.
