O impacto da transfusão sanguínea nos pós-operatório de cirurgias cardíacas

Abstract

AIMS: this article aims to analyze the main indications for blood transfusion and its main risks and effects in postoperative heart surgeriesSOURCE OF DATA: scientific original and review articles from the MedLine/Pubmed, Scielo and LILACS databases. SUMMARY OF FINDINGS: the indications for postoperative transfusion in cardiac surgery include treatment of coagulopathies and correction of anemia with the ultimate goal of limiting bleeding and improve the ability to transport oxygen. Various evidences suggest the association between blood transfusion and increased risk of postoperative complications in cardiac surgery. CONCLUSIONS: blood transfusion is associated with higher rates of comorbidities, such as infectious processes, atrial fibrillation, acute renal failure, stroke and ARDS.

OBJETIVOS: no presente artigo, pretende-se analisar as principais indicações da transfusão sanguínea e seus principais riscos e efeitos no pós-operatório de cirurgias cardíacas. FONTE DE DADOS: artigos científicos originais e de revisão das bases de dados MedLine/Pubmed, Scielo e LILACS.SÍNTESE DOS DADOS: as indicações de transfusão no pós-operatório em cirurgias cardíacas incluem o tratamento de coagulopatias e correção de anemias com o objetivo final de limitar o sangramento e melhorar a capacidade de transporte de oxigênio. Diversas evidências sugerem a associação entre transfusão sanguínea e o aumento no risco de complicações no pós-operatório de cirurgias cardíacas. CONCLUSÕES: a transfusão sanguínea está associada com maiores taxas de comorbidades, como processos infecciosos, Fibrilação Atrial, Insuficiência Renal Aguda, Acidente Vascular Cerebral e SARA.
