O testemunho no quarto evangelho: uma análise narrativa de João Batista e do discípulo amado

Abstract

“O Testemunho no quarto Evangelho: Uma análise narrativa de João Batista e do Discípulo Amado” é uma dissertação composta de três capítulos. Apresenta-se inicialmente o método narrativo, utilizado na dissertação. O primeiro capítulo analisa o termo mártys (testemunha) e derivados, a fim de descobrir sua incidência no texto do quarto Evangelho, bem como os diversos usos no grego clássico, na LXX e no NT. O segundo capítulo, a partir do texto final do quarto Evangelho, estuda a narrativa do texto, por meio do enredo e dos personagens, demonstrando sua estrutura testemunhal. Cada personagem apresenta uma diferente resposta diante de Jesus Cristo e propicia ao leitor uma ocasião para avaliar a sua própria fé. O terceiro capítulo estuda “João Batista” e o “Discípulo Amado”, as principais testemunhas do mistério de Jesus Cristo. O testemunho desses personagens é complementar, pois estão elaborados num duplo literário. Os dois personagens apresentam dois testemunhos a respeito de Jesus Cristo que, na verdade, são, como que, um único e mesmo testemunho. Esse testemunho oferece a todos os leitores uma oportunidade para que, em contato com o texto escrito, possam dar, em cada época, seu próprio testemunho de Jesus Cristo.

“The testimony in the Fourth Gospel: a narrative analysis of John the Baptist and of the Beloved Disciple” is a dissertation divided into three chapters. At the beginning there is shown the narrative method used in the dissertation. The first chapter makes an analysis of the word mártys (witness) and derived terms from it, in order to discover its incidence in the text of the Fourth Gospel as well the different usages in the classical Greek language, in the LXX and in the New Testament. The second chapter, starting from the final text of the Fourth Gospel, studies the narrative of the text by means of the plot and the personages showing its structure in witnessing. E ach one presents a different answer in front of Jesus and favours to the reader an opportunity for evaluate his faith. The third chapter studies “John the Baptist” and the “Beloved Disciple”, the two most important witnesses of Jesus’ mystery. This testimony is a supplement composed according to the so called literary double. Both the personages present two testimonies about Jesus, resulting in fact in one, so to say, testimony. It offers to all the readers an occasion to, reading the text, testify at every time the own testimony of Jesus.
