Análise ictioarqueológica dos sítios: sambaqui do recreio, itapeva e dorva, municípios de torres e três cachoeiras, rio grande do sul, brasil

Abstract

The present dissertation intends to analyze fish remains found in the archeological sites of: Sambaqui do Recreio (LII-18), Sambaqui de Itapeva (RS-LN-201) and Sambaqui da Dorva (LII-43). The first two situated in the município of Torres, and the third in the município of Três Cachoeiras, northern littoral of Rio Grande do Sul. The Recreio shell mound has a carbon-14 date of aproximetly 3. 540 ± 50 B. P. *, the Itapeva shell mound has 3. 130 ± 40 B. P. and 1. 110 ± 40 B. P. for the Dorva site. The species found will be identified using a specialized bibliography of the respective area and a bone reference collection. This project is characterized by its broad, interdisciplinary characteristic. This is necessary due to the complexity of multiple factors, as much as cultural as natural that contributed to the formation of the shell mounds. The diversity between the application of many biological, historical and geographical concepts and methods may formulate a possible understanding, by means of the fish remains excavated in this shell mound, to the cultural, social and ambiental ways that contribute to the formation of this kind of category of archeological site. Through the identification of habit and habitat of each species, it will be possible to correlate them to the different fishing artifacts, this way, we can comprehend the possible techniques employed by the people who once occupied the shell mounds. Ultimately, we will compare the results of each site to each other, so that way we can achieve a greater understanding of the shell mound culture in their fishing activities.

O presente trabalho pretende analisar os vestígios ósseos de peixes encontrados em escavações nos sítios arqueológicos: Sambaqui do Recreio (LII-18), Sambaqui de Itapeva (RS-LN-201) e Sambaqui da Dorva (LII-43). Os dois primeiros estão situados no município de Torres e o último no município de Três Cachoeiras, litoral Norte do Rio Grande do Sul. O Sambaqui do Recreio possui datação radiocarbônica aproximada de 3. 350 ± 50 A. P. * e 3. 540 ±50 A. P., o Sambaqui de Itapeva foi datado em 3. 130 ± 40 A. P., e o sítio arqueológico da Dorva têm a data de 1. 110 ± 40 A. P. As espécies foram identificadas tendo como base a bibliografia especializada na temática e a utilização de uma coleção óssea de referência. A abordagem interdisciplinar realizada aqui se faz necessária devido à complexidade de múltiplos fatores, tanto culturais quanto naturais, que contribuíram para a formação dos sambaquis. O encontro entre as Ciências Biológicas, História e Geografia possibilitará entender, através dos restos de peixes escavados nestes sambaquis, os modos culturais, sociais e os ambientais que garantiram a formação-criação desta categoria de sítio arqueológico. Através da identificação dos habitats de cada espécie, será possível relacionar estes aos diferentes artefatos de pesca, possibilitando também a compreensão das técnicas empregadas pelos antigos ocupantes dos sambaquis. Por fim, iremos comparar os resultados de cada sítio entre si, para que, desta maneira, possamos alcançar uma compreensão maior da cultura sambaquiana em suas atividades pesqueiras.
