Conformidade entre idéia e objeto: reflexão sobre a verdade na I apologia de Justino Mártir

Abstract

Esta dissertação apresenta uma pesquisa bibliográfica direcionada a estabelecer a identificação moral e dogmática do termo Verdade, exposto de forma predicativa na obra intitulada I Apologia de Justino Mártir. Acredita-se que, na formação e constituição histórica do cristianismo, alguns autores como Justino de Roma ajudaram a criar e fomentar os parâmetros necessários para se estabelecer uma “identidade cristã” durante os dois primeiros séculos da era atual. A partir de novos valores e preceitos, ordenou-se de maneira pragmática uma tentativa de reconhecer e distinguir o fato de ser cristão em meio ao contexto sociorreligioso do mundo greco-romano. De maneira explícita e implícita – e às vezes de forma paradoxal – Justino categoricamente identifica o que era ser um seguidor de Cristo em sua I Apologia, além de apresentar o que poderia ser considerado como a Verdade de forma categórica e até mesmo tangível nesse processo. A partir desse ideário de fé, a dissertação discute questões pertinentes sobre o autor, a obra base e outras características de seu contexto histórico. Foram investigadas as relações entre a cultura helênica e o novo modus vivendi naquele ambiente e, nele, a identidade filosófica de Justino. Por fim, apresentou-se um quadro clarificador sobre os elementos que são considerados evidências inquestionáveis para Justino do que é a Verdade revelada em meio aos homens. Desenvolveu-se deste modo, uma provável definição da Verdade segundo a concepção de Justino Mártir a partir de sua I Apologia.

This dissertation presents a bibliographical research directed to establish the moral and dogmatic identification of the term Truth, exposed in a predicative way in the work entitled I Apology of Justin Martyr. It is believed that in the formation and historical constitution of Christianity some authors like Justin of Rome helped to create and foster the parameters necessary to establish a "Christian identity" during the first two centuries of the present era. From new values and precepts, an attempt to recognize and distinguish the fact of being Christian amidst the socioreligious context of the Greco-Roman "world" was pragmatically ordered. Explicitly and implicitly - and sometimes in a paradoxical way - Justin categorically identifies what it was like to be a follower of Christ in his Apology, in addition to presenting what could be categorically and even tangibly Truth in that process. From this idea of faith, the dissertation discusses pertinent questions about the author, the base work and other characteristics of its historical context. The relations between the Hellenic culture and the new modus vivendi in that environment were investigated, and in it the philosophical identity of Justin. Finally, a clarifying picture was presented on the elements that are considered unquestionable evidences for Justino of what is the Truth revealed among men. In this way, a probable definition of the Truth according to the conception of Justin Martyr from his I Apologia was developed.
