| Abstract: | O Pentecostalismo é um movimento Cristão iniciado em 1906, com ênfase em Santificação, Oração, Dons do Espírito Santo e a Volta de Cristo. Este movimento transformou o mundo através de doutrinas como o Batismo por Imersão, Batismo no Espírito Santo, com evidência em falar na língua dos anjos e a Volta iminente de Cristo. Apesar de ser um movimento de aproximadamente um século, o Pentecostalismo somente pôde surgir porque, durante a história progressiva do Cristianismo, houve teólogos que, através do estudo sistemático bíblico, reinterpretaram as escrituras encontrando um novo modo de viver. Assim, nesta dissertação, demonstra-se a doutrina desta crença no Brasil através de um estudo de caso da maior denominação protestante brasileira – as Assembleias de Deus – e sua interpretação das Escrituras Sagradas.
The Pentecostalism is a Christian movement that begun in 1906 with emphasis on Sanctification, Prayer, Gifts of the Holy Spirit and the Return of Christ. This movement transformed the world through doctrines such as Baptism in the Holy Spirit with evidence in speaking in the language of the angels and the imminent Return of Christ. Despite being a movement of approximately one century, Pentecostalism could only arise because, during the progressive history of Christianity, there were theologians who, through a systematic biblical study, reinterpreted the scriptures by finding a new way of living. Thus, this dissertation demonstrates the doctrine of this belief in Brazil, through a case study of the largest Brazilian Protestant denomination – the Assemblies of God – and its interpretation of the Holy Scriptures. |
