O texto sem margens: espaço narrativo e intertextualidade em Juan José Saer

Abstract

Este tese busca articular os conceitos de intertextualidade e espaço narrativo em diferentes textos da obra do escritor argentino Juan José Saer (1937-2005), obra que se constitui por uma radical coerência interna entre os volumes de contos e romances e que se situa, dos primeiros registros ao último e inacabado romance, em uma mesma geografia literária. Ao longo da investigação, são examinadas as formas com que a produção do autor se insere na conversação com as séries literárias (dentro e fora da literatura nacional), as ocorrências da representação da literatura e do ato da escritura no interior da ficção e a dinâmica da intertextualidade interna da obra, que ao final pode ser definida como uma história única formada por distintos fragmentos de texto. Por outro lado, e em relação ao espaço, são observados os limites, as fronteiras e as sobreposições espaciais no corpus selecionado; da mesma forma, são analisados os deslocamentos e trânsitos entre personagens e narradores, movimentos que estabelecem a construção, sempre em processo, desse lugar. Interessa, ainda, discutir a posição crítica de Juan José Saer a respeito dos gêneros literários e o modo como localiza a sua narração em um entrelugar discursivo.

This thesis aims to articulate the concepts of intertextuality and narrative space in different texts from the Argentinian writer Juan José Saer (1937-2005) which are constituted by a radical internal coherence between the volume of short stories and novels and that can be placed, from the first writings up to the last and unfinished novel, into the same literary geography. The research analyzes the ways in which the author’s production inserts itself in the dialogue with the literary series (in and out of the national literature), the dynamics of internal intertextuality in his work that, by the end, can be defined as a unique story formed by different fragments of text. In addition, regarding space, the limits, the borders and spatial overlapping in the selected corpus are observed; thus, it is analysed the displacement and transit between characters and narrators and the movements that establish the construction, always in process, of this place. Moreover, it is interesting to this research to discuss Juan José Saer’s critic position regarding literary genres and how he places his narration in a discursive in-between.
