This research studies the power of permanence of the Che Guevara´s myth 40 years after his death. Since he died in Bolivia, in october 1967, Che became a myth, with various versions and new readings during this time. Alberto Korda´s famous picture, a thousand times printed during these four decades, became an ideological totem, but also an image bought by many people through different ways. This dissertation, so, focus the path of the myth and the force that supports it. To do it, the study identifies at least four variables that act to give power to the myth: media, ideology, imagery and consumption. Though they don´t act simultaneously and not in the order they are placed, this cicle provides a constant feedback to guevarist universe. It is important to notice that among the four variables, it is the media that, with your ways, gives power to the others, leveraging the image, the consumption and the ideology of Che Guevara and his myth.
