| Abstract: | Esta dissertação tem como principal objetivo examinar aquele que pode ser considerado o termo fundamental da semântica tomista: o conceito de existência. O Aquinate, em sua Teologia natural, utiliza os termos Deus e Existência como estritamente sinônimos. Desse modo, cabe evidenciar os aspectos mais importantes de sua reflexão metafísica, a fim de chegar ao conceito de Deus como A Existência (Ipsum esse subsistens). São Tomás, para atingir esse resultado, deve demonstrar que, se todos os entes acessíveis à percepção humana existem por outro (ab alio), então deve haver pelo menos um ser que exista por si (ens a se). É este ser que responde pela causa primeira de tudo o mais que se possa afirmar, com verdade, que exista, no sentido forte do termo.
The principal objective of this dissertation is to examine that what can be considered the fundamental term of the thomistic semantic: the concept of existence. Aquinas, in his natural Theology, uses the terms God and existence as strictly synonym. Thus, it is appropriate to show the most important aspects of his methaphisic reflexion to get at the concept of God as The Existence par excellence (Ipsum esse subsistens). Saint Thomas, to achive this result, should demonstrate that if all being accessible to the human perception exists for another (ab alio), so there should be at least one being that exists itself (ens a se). This being answers for the first cause of everything else that is possible to say, with truth, that exists in the strong sense of the term. |
