| Abstract: | A década de trinta do século XX, com Getúlio Vargas à frente do executivo nacional, inaugura uma nova fase nas relações luso-brasileiras, pois a partir deste momento verifica-se um processo de reaproximação entre os dois países. Com a implantação do Estado Novo no Brasil, em razão das afinidades ideológicas e histórico-culturais, bem como do expressivo número de portugueses residentes no Brasil, acentua-se este processo de aproximação. Desse modo, com base na retórica da afetividade, Portugal irá assumir a liderança nesse processo de ligação com o Brasil, visando a formação da comunidade luso-brasileira e o incremento nas entre os dois países. Como fruto desse recrudescimento nas relações entre lusos e brasileiros, constata-se a assinatura de um Tratado Cultural, de uma Convenção Ortográfica, da criação da Revista Atlântico, de um Protocolo Adicional ao Tratado de Comércio e Navegação de 1933, assim como uma série de outras iniciativas que objetivam aproximar Brasil e Portugal e ressaltar a identidade comum entre essas duas nações.
The 1930s decade, with Getúlio Vargas heading de national executive, sets up a new phase in the Brazilian-Portuguese relations, and from this moment on one can verify a process of reapproaching between the two countries. With the implementation of Estado Novo (New State) in Brazil, due to the ideologcal and historic-cultural kinship as well as the great number of Portuguese people living in Brazil, this process of approaching increases. Thus, based on the rethoric of affectionateness, Portugal will assume the leadership in this linking process to Brazil, aiming at the formation of a Brazilian-Portuguese community and the increase of the relations. As a result of the increment in the relations between Brazilian and Portuguese people, one can witness the signature of a Cultural Treaty, of an Orthographical Convention, and the creation of Atlantico Magazine, of an Additional Protocol to the Treaty of Commerce and Navigation (1933) besides a series of initiatives that have the objective of approaching Brazil and Portugal and emphasizing the common identity between these two nations. |
