This dissertation intends to analyse feminine characters into the Eça de Queirós’ novel (O primo Basílio) and into the Josué Guimarães’ novel (A ferro e fogo: tempo de solidão) through the Georg Lukács’ hero theory and feminist theories. Its main purpose is explaining who the feminine characters belong, although the different approaches, to a particular point of view who inserts them in historical social conceptions. Both represent a conventionally called realistic literature who corresponds, in narration time, to a specific social functions determined by historical and ideological periods that commands her social actions. Although the novels are apart for almost one century they represent the importance of feminine characters construction through different historic periods. This importance has been demonstrated from Aristóteles to nowadays because of the feminine function of conserving ethic and social customs. |
