| Abstract: | A presente dissertação de Mestrado é composta por dois estudos, seguindo as normas do programa de Pós-Graduação em Psicologia da PUCRS. O primeiro estudo é uma revisão de literatura intitulada Aspectos Psicossociais da Parentalidade e a Percepção de Pais e Mães acerca de Seus Filhos, que teve por objetivos: 1) discutir os papéis exercidos por homens e mulheres no âmbito familiar; 2) discutir a relação pais-filhos/as e mães-filhos/as e 3) discutir as possíveis diferenças na maneira com que pais e mães percebem e se pronunciam sobre seus/suas filhos/as, especificamente sobre suas características de comportamento. Foi realizada uma busca nas bases de dados SciELO, Lilacs, Medline e PsycINFO para verificar o número de estudos recuperados sobre maternidade e paternidade, sendo que o número de estudos sobre maternidade é três vezes maior que o número de estudos sobre paternidade, o que confirma ser, ainda hoje, o papel materno mais valorizado que o papel paterno, quando se trata da relação parental e desenvolvimento infantil. Ainda, este estudo apresenta os aspectos sociais e culturais intrínsecos nos papéis desempenhados por homens e mulheres na família e que influenciam na maneira como exercem seus papéis parentais e, consequentemente, na maneira que percebem e se pronunciam sobre seus/suas filhos/as. O segundo estudo, Concordância entre Respostas de Pais e Mães aos Problemas de Comportamento Infantil através do CBCL, teve como objetivo verificar a concordância entre as respostas de pais e mães quanto aos problemas de comportamento de seus/suas filhos/as a partir do Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL). Os resultados demonstram que pais e mães perceberam seus/suas filhos de forma distinta e, consequentemente, apresentaram concordância baixa a moderada quando solicitados a se pronunciarem, via CBCL, sobre seus/suas filhos/as.Esse fato é discutido à luz do contexto social e cultural que trata sobre os distintos papéis de pais e mães, no que diz respeito ao cuidado da prole, corroborando os achados da literatura internacional.
This paper follows the rules proposed by the Graduate Program in Psychology at PUCRS and is divided in two studies. The first study, untitled Psychosocial aspects of parenting and the father. s and mother. s perception about their Children, reviews the literature about the psychosocial aspects of parenting as well as the father and mother. s perception about their children. The study aims to: 1) discuss the different roles played by the man and the woman in the family; 2) discuss the parent-child relationship and 3) discuss the differences in terms of father. s and mother. s understanding about their children behavior. To identify relevant studies it was carried out a search in the standard computerized databases such as SCIELO, LILACS and PsycINFO. The key terms used were motherhood and fatherhood. There are three times more studies about motherhood than fatherhood, revealing that despite the advances in the modern world, the mother still plays an essential part in issues related to parenting and child development. Furthermore, this study presents the intrinsic role played by the man and the woman in the family and how they influence their parenting skills and consequently, the way they perceive and pronounce themselves about their children. The second study is untitled Agreement between Fathers and Mother. s Report to Children Behavior Problems through the CBCL, aimed to verify the agreement between the mothers. and fathers. reports about their children behavior through the Child Behavior Check List (CBCL). The results show that fathers and mother. s perception about their children had low to moderate agreement when asked to report about their children behavior. The cultural and socials aspects of the results were discussed as well as the different roles played by the man and the woman, regarding to parenting, confirming the findings of the international literature about the subject. |
