Textualizações de diferentes sujeitos: identidade e memória em Cavaleiro Andante, de Almeida Faria

Abstract

Desenvolve-se, nesta investigação, um estudo do romance português da atualidade, observando-se a produção artística nas últimas três décadas do século XX. Esse romance estrutura-se em cartas, fragmentos de diários e sonhos e é considerado como ficcionalização autobiográfica que evidencia para os leitores não só a representação do sujeito como também a representação da história e da construção diaspórica da nação portuguesa. Realiza-se um percurso do conceito de romance, sua história e estrutura, para se alcançar o romance epistolar, procurando-se determinar alguns paradigmas da utilização da carta na ficção. A partir daí, a pesquisa centra-se na análise de Cavaleiro Andante, de Almeida Faria a fim de mostrar como um romance epistolar discute a questão da identidade portuguesa.

It is developed, on this investigation, a study of the nowadays Portuguese romance, observing the artistic production from the last three decades of 20th Century. This romance is structured in letters, diary fragments and dreams and is considered a fictional autobiography that brings to readers the evidence of not only the representation of the person but also the historic representation and diasporic construction of the Portuguese nation. A walk through on the concept of romance is taken, its history and structure, in order to reach the epistolary romance, looking to determine some paradigms regarding the use of the letter on fiction. From there, the research is centered on the analysis of Cavaleiro Andante (Walker Knight), from Almeida Faria in order to show how an epistolary romance discusses the Portuguese identity subject.
