Estratégias educativas: a perspectiva de pais de crianças com transtorno de déficit de atenção/hiperatividade

Abstract

Este trabalho procura discutir o processo educativo familiar, buscando um entendimento a partir das estratégias educativas utilizadas nas famílias que têm um ou mais filhos com Transtorno de Déficit de Atenção/Hiperatividade. Partirmos do pressuposto de que todos os sistemas em que essas crianças e suas famílias encontram-se inseridas influem e são também influenciadas por essa convivência. Assim, foram elaborados dois artigos para a composição da dissertação de mestrado. No primeiro, foi realizada uma revisão da literatura sobre as características do TDA/H, bem como as estratégias educativas utilizadas pelos pais dessas crianças. O segundo artigo se propôs a realizar uma pesquisa que teve o intuito de investigar quais as estratégias educativas que os pais com filhos com TDA/H utilizam, além das que eles avaliam mais eficazes na educação dessas crianças. Os resultados mostraram, em termos gerais, que os pais, estressados pela dificuldade referente à educação de seus filhos, utilizavam-se demais de estratégias coercitivas do que indutivas, apontando para a necessidade de apoio e orientação para os pais dessas crianças, por profissionais da área da saúde. Para que possam colocar em prática o que avaliam como mais eficaz.

This paper aims to discuss the familiar educational process in order to understand the educational strategies used by families with one or more children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. We consider that all systems in which these children and their families live have an influence and are influenced by this contact. Thus, two articles were written for the master thesis. In the first one, there is a review of the literature of ADHD characteristics and of educational strategies used by the parents of these children. The purpose of the second article is to research the educational strategies used by parents of children with ADHD and to discover which they consider more usefull in the education of these children. The results show that parents stressed by the dificulties of the educational process of their children were used to use more coercive than inductive strategies. Thus, health professionals must support and guide these parents in order to give them conditions to do what they think is more effective in relation to this situation.
