The aim of this thesis is to investigate contemporary historical novels by female authorship, in which women are highlighted as a field of instauration of new meanings, questioning conventions which were attributed as a second role in Brazil‟s colonial history. By bringing back the past, female characters representation points towards to a new novel typology of historical novel and it analyses the transformations of female myths. |
